MY STORY.

Hi, my name is Emiscah Rose Barker.

I am a highly sensitive human being & deeply devoted to the inner tending needed to heal from unresolved trauma/s, or simply put, the emotional & psychological wounds many of us hold inside.

For me, unresolved childhood trauma showed up in my late 20’s as chronic & debilitating anxiety, panic attacks, perfectionism, low self-worth, intense shame and more.

Through my journey, I have come to understand that all of my ‘anxiety’ sensations & symptoms were messages from my intelligent body, leading me towards healing.

It wasn’t until I learned how to listen to the wisdom of my body and work through my unresolved trauma, that I was able to heal to the degree that I have. I have journeyed through well over a decade of my own healing, and I continue to do the work.

It was through a consistent practice of reconnecting to my body, healing my nervous system and tending to my inner child, along with incredible support from trauma-informed therapists, holistic practitioners, practices and modalities, that I have managed to heal a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, severe health anxiety and other stress-related illnesses.

I am always learning, and I continue to participate in educational courses that are trauma-informed. I know how delicate trauma healing is. I am not a trained psychotherapist or psychologist.

I am here to guide you, into your body, to show you your body’s innate wisdom & capacity for healing.

I am here to teach you how to resource yourself, develop a deeper trust with your body and feel safe inside of it.

My most valuable and important training has been my lived experience of various processing and integrative modalities. These include EMDR, Compassionate Inquiry, Somatic Experiencing, TRE, homeopathy, inner child work, yoga, bilateral stimulation, and intuitive body movement & dance.
